I've been checking out the vast resource that is the Internet Archive: Moving Image Archive. These are tons of old films that are now in the public domain, archived at one place.My daughter and I just watched several of the films, including one about Japanese-American prisoners detained in concentration camps during WWII.
This is all public-domain stuff; a veritable treasure trove for mashup artists.
